FN 101 DP1: Digital Imaging-Drawing & Painting
With a focus on improving their drawing and illustration skills, students in this freshman foundation drawing and painting class go from learning and using very basic Photoshop tools to feeling comfortable executing advanced Photoshop techniques. The goal of the class is two fold: 1- improve your drawing and illustration skills and 2- become as comfortable using Photoshop as they would with a traditional media such as pencil, chalk or paint.
A small, boutique design studio in Maine focusing on brand design and corporate creative problem solving. I’ve had the great privilege to work on everything from z-fold brochures for a Maine land trust, developing icon systems for a bank specializing in renewable energy and energy efficiency projects, marketing and can design for a local brewery, and a plethora of projects for a Healthcare nonprofit who has the political clout, willpower and unique business makeup to actually possibly succeed in this lofty goal.
Senior Production Designer
The VIA Agency
I worked on the Sam’s Club account at VIA for the last three years. During that time I was a Senior Production Designer for the account in charge of creating everything from their annual Christmas catalogs, the quarterly produced Instant Savings Books, billboards, flyers, print ads, FSI’s, postcards, emails, splash pages, digital banner ads and all forms of social media. My job also included retouching photography from photo shoots, going on press checks around the US to guarantee product quality, and help produce the brand guidelines for Sam’s Club. Because I was the Senior Production Designer on the acoount, my job also included designing and implementing various new production procedures and standards as needed for VIA such as new work flow processes and/or InDesign/Photoshop templates for print and social media work.
I was also at times the lead production designer and fill-in-as-needed art director for the Samsung, Klondike, Peoples United Bank, LoJack, Perdue, Welch’s, Shutterfly and Friendly’s accounts.
VIA rock award – Every year VIA gives an award to a handful of employees for exemplary service. Many employees go their whole career without getting one. I was fortunate in my 5 years of being there to earn this award twice.
